Project: Gilgamesh slays the Bull of Heaven illustration
Mediums: Inks and Copic Markers on paper
Description: I’ve liked Gilgamesh for a long time. It’s a shame not many are aware of his legend. I suppose that’s testament to how old he is in history that perhaps he’s started to fade in antiquity. I’ve drawn here the moment when the Bull of Heaven was slain. In the actual story, it was Enkidu, Gilgamesh’s longtime companion, who actually killed the Bull after it was sent by the jealous goddess Ishtar, to punish Gilgamesh for spurning her advances.
